Saving money at this time of year is tricky at best!  AND trying to find parking during the heavy holiday shopping is crazy… and getting around safely during the party season– a serious consideration each time going out!

So, to get around the party traffic,  unempty parking spaces AND TO SAVE GAS MONEY to be used for other things this time of year… TRY CHAPEL HILL TRANSIT OR TRIANGLE TRANSIT.  Carpooling is a great alternative, as well as using a bike (in this unusually warm December weather)!  Any way you look at it, alternative transportation is a great way to get about this holiday season!

 

CORRECTION: The 303 will NOT operate on 11/25, 12/26, 12/27, and 1/2 as previously indicated. Please plan ahead for the upcoming holidays using the following corrected schedule:

12/24 (Saturday) — Triangle Transit regional bus routes will NOT operate.
12/31 (Saturday) — Triangle Transit regional bus routes will NOT operate.
12/26 (Monday) — Regional bus routes 100, 400, 700 and 800 will operate using the Saturday schedule. The 303 Saturday route will NOT run.
12/27 (Tuesday) — Regional bus routes 100, 400, 700 and 800 will operate using the Saturday schedule. The 303 Saturday route will NOT run.
1/2 (Monday) — Regional bus routes 100, 400, 700 and 800 will operate using the Saturday schedule. The 303 Saturday route will NOT run.

Chapel Hill Transit (CHT) services will operate the following schedule this Thanksgiving holiday: 

Thursday, November 24^th – No Service

Friday, November 25^th – Saturday Service, No U or NU routes and EZ Rider ends at 7:00 p.m.

Saturday, November 26^th – Saturday Service, No U or NU routes and EZ Rider ends at 7:00 p.m.

Sunday, November 27^th – The U route will start at 1:50 p.m. at the Coffee Shop, the NU will start at 1:45 p.m. at the RR lot and EZ Rider will operate from 1:45 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. (ADA service only).

 

Safe Rides will not operate the week of Thanksgiving and will resume on Thursday, December 1^st.

 

CHT’s administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, November 24^th and Friday, November 25^th.  

 

The Regional Call Center will be open to provide route and schedule information:

Thursday, November 24^th, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Friday, November 25^th, 7 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Saturday, November 26^th, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Veteran’s Day

Town of Chapel Hill employees who are veterans or who have family members in active duty will be recognized for their service and sacrifice by the Mayor and Town Council in advance of Veterans Day. This special recognition will take place at the beginning of the Council meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9.
