Tour de Fat and Bike Art – just a bike ride away

Tour-de-Fat Tempe American Tobacco Campus

American Tobacco Campus, Durham     June 25th 2016

On Saturday, June 25th, New Belgian’s bike circus is bringing two wheeled fun (and beer) to Durham.   The morning starts with an “all bikes on roads” parade.   This means you! Register at 10am, and parade from 11am to 12 noon.  The afternoon schedule includes theatre, cabaret, and other silliness.   More info about the day can be found on New Belgian’s website – you need to be 21 to enjoy (remember the beer part?).

Think you want to ride there?  It’s easy!  Epheseum Fordam to Durham City hall

We checked it out today (we had a planning meeting in Durham) and it was only 40 minutes from Epheseus Fordham to Downtown Durham.  We used the route “the google” suggested, but modified it near the Duke campus, and took 751 to campus (Academy) and then went right on Duke University Road all the way to Durham.

We had a great ride, especially the trees and shade, as well as the bike lanes on the Duke Campus.

If circuses and parades and beer isn’t your age bracket or your fancy, the Carrboro Bicycle Coalition (CBC) is exhibiting art of the bike at the Carrboro Branch Library.  This exhibition opened on June 19th and will be at the Library through October 2016.

Along with this, and to celebrate June as bike month, the CBC is sponsoring a Bike Poster contest, “Happy on a Bike”, with lots of great prizes.
Get your creative juices spinning!
