
In November the Town of Chapel Hill held the Go Chapel Hill 2021 Commute Choices Conference celebrating 30 Years of Transportation Demand Management Commute Choices. Over 100 in attendance received Best Practices information regarding Commute Choices with 33 speakers offering examples of our roles in being Good Stewards of the Earth.
Speakers included Sabrina Glenn, the President of the South East Association for Commuter Transportation (SEACT) and the Executive Director, David Straus, of the International Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT). The Town’s Sustainability Officer, John Richardson spoke along with other speakers from the around the region and state. The day long conference also formally introduced the first program of it’s kind on the East Coast, Vets On the Move, for Veterans understanding and acclimating to Commute Choices in the Chapel Hill/Triangle area.
The 2021 Mayor’s Awards were presented by Mayor Pam Hemminger. Congratulations to those recognized at the 30th Anniversary Conference, for Awards of Excellence!

The annual conference focuses on best practices in alternative transportation and is part of the larger year-round program, Go Chapel Hill Commute Choices program.
