Chapel Hill Street Design No-Fee Workshop

Chapel Hill Street Design No-Fee Workshop – April 19, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Hargraves Center and is open to the public.

Consider joining the community Street Design Workshop where streets will be reimagined as safer, greener, and more enjoyable elements of the public realm. (Photo examples from West Palm Beach, FL, Fayetteville, AR and Akron, OH)
This workshop focuses on Intersection Design, utilizing participatory planning tools sometimes known as DIY urbanism, tactical urbanism, or Lighter, Quicker, Cheaper (LQC) to implement temporary solutions to challenges in the built environment.

This is a way to test new ideas before investing significant time and money into a project. The best part is that you can help! Bring great and creative ideas to the table and start sketching!

The event will include a brief presentation on the principles of tactical urbanism/DIY urbanism/LCQ, examples of other street design experiments, a group activity to sketch creative intersection designs, and a final vote at the end to determine a project to implement in Downtown.
