Clean Transportation Plan Public Information Sessions

Over the last year, NCDOT collected ideas from experts, industry representatives, and community advocates on ways to accelerate the decarbonization of North Carolina’s transportation sector. This work has been summarized in the state’s first Clean Transportation Plan (NCCTP). In this fourth and final Public Information Session, NCDOT will provide an overview of the plan including the  priority strategies that emerged from the five NCCTP work groups, and an inventory of critical next steps.    

The N.C. Department of Transportation will host the fourth in a series of public information sessions on the N.C. Clean Transportation Plan from 4 pm to 5 pm on Tuesday February 28, 2023. 

The session will be virtual on the GoToWebinar platform and is free to attend.  Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate!

Following the public information session on Feb 28, a draft of the NCCTP will be available online

for public review and comment from March 1 – 15.

In-Person Open Houses and Feedback on Draft Plan 

NCDOT has scheduled a series of in-person open houses from March 2 – March 6 .   These open houses will provide regional forums for answering questions and capturing valuable feedback on the plan.

The information provided and feedback requested will be identical at each location.

Opportunities for feedback will be available at each open house and online through March 15.

Traffic Garden Ribbon Cutting February 7th!

Come to the the Ribbon Cutting of Chapel Hill’s Traffic Garden on Tuesday, February 7 from 9:30 – 10 a.m. at Homestead Aquatic Parking Area, 300 Aquatic Drive, Chapel Hill, NC.

Hear Mayor Pam Hemminger will officially open the Chapel Hill Traffic Garden and discuss bicycle safety information. Enjoy hot chocolate with other bicycle enthusiasts while finding out bicycle safety information!

February 11th – Children’s Grand Opening Event for Chapel Hill’s Traffic Garden for Young Cyclists

Young children are invited to bring your bicycle and enjoy a bicycle safety rodeo on Saturday February 11th from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. at Homestead Aquatic Parking Area, 300 Aquatic Drive, Chapel Hill. Enjoy helmet fittings, bicycle fixes, giveaways and safety information too!
